OWNERS STATEMENT

We bought Harmonix from new in late 2009 so we had the pleasure of specifying with Southerly a high level of sailing performance and comfort in this go-anywhere, fast, safe, solid family cruising yacht equipped for seven.

With grandchildren in mind Harmonix has in addition

  • Pushpit seats beloved by grandchildren and adults

  • TV/ DVD with international tuning.

  • The toast rack upper bunk in the forward cabin

  • We subsequently added a cockpit tent to be able to dine outside en famille on summer cruises when the wind was a touch chill. The tent also protects the cockpit in winter

In use and in certain conditions we felt that more sail area was needed so in collaboration with Southerly we added the genoa tracks and a 110% genoa, giving a truly sparkling performance. This makes this Southerly 110 unique in the 110 fleet.

However with much regret because of my wife's health and my son’s increased workload the amount of sailing done over the last couple of years has been minimal, hence the decision to part with Harmonix. The yacht has sadly been under-used in the last two years and is in very good condition. As we are local to Itchenor the yacht has been regularly maintained by Northshore Shipyard.

MANUFACTURER PROVIDED DESCRIPTION

The Southerly 110 embodies the established features of the Southerly range, which have proved popular over many years. The modern hull and rig set very high standards of performance, versatility and sheer good looks which appeals to family and cruising yachtsmen alike. Her aft cockpit, plumb bow line and twin rudder configuration, combined with her sail plan, makes her a fast, fun and exhilarating yacht to sail.

VARIABLE DRAFT KEEL

The fixed ballast is an iron casting which acts as a grounding plate and astransverse stiffening for the keel unit. It is fitted into a moulded recess in thehull in the area of the keel box with stainless steel fastenings. The aerofoil keel blade is cast iron and incorporates a stainless steel pivot at the leading edge.

Variable draft is achieved by raising and lowering the blade with an electrically driven pump, fitted with a manual back-up. All hydraulics are easily accessible for maintenance. The keel control is fitted at the helm pedestal with a gauge showing the keel position. A removable stainless steel pin enables the keel to be locked in the “up” position.
